Huffman Family Lifestyle Portraits . . .

The other day I had a great time with the Huffman family doing a lifestyle photography session.  Although I’ve done plenty of family portraits, this was my first session that could be called a “lifestyle” type session.  Someone asked me if a lifestyle portrait session was getting a picture of them in the kitchen pouring coffee or something like that.  I LOL!!  Not quite that lifestyled and laid back!!  Anyway, I went to their farm and just took some pictures of them in their comfortable surroundings.  We had a great time and got some AWESOME pictures!!  It was just what she was looking for!!  Hope you enjoy them!!

Courtney is my Senior Model Rep for Alexander Central High School!  She liked my locations and poses so-o-o much that she made me take some pictures of her on her cell phone so she could have them right away!!  I loved it!!  You may be wondering why two of my models have on a white dress, blue jean jacket and cowboys boots!  Just to let you know, I don’t pick out my model’s outfits!  They just had similar taste!  I love the look of this outfit!!

I’ve been busy . . .

Whew, it seems like I’ve not posted to my blog in such a long time!  It’s not that I don’t have anything to post – I’ve got some beautiful photos to post, I’ve just been extremely busy with things.  I’m doing Senior sessions of my Senior model reps for the area schools, and I’ve got several to show you.  I’ve been having such a good time meeting these amazing Seniors and taking their pictures.  Yes, they seem like pretty amazing teenagers – I’m getting this by reading some of their goal and aspirations on FB, and by getting to know them one by one.

I talked to one Senior’s mom and the Senior compared me to her sister that is a professional photographer in New York City.  She said that I take so much more time with her and that I was very patient with her.  Well, I try!!  I really do try to have a fun time on the sessions and try to be very patient.  Most of the Seniors have never modeled or sat in front of a camera for two to three hours, so they are very unsure of what is expected of them.  My job is to be patient and get them relaxed so their personalities can show through, instead of a fear of the camera (and photographer!!)

Anyway, I need to post some pics!

Yes, most guest books are very white, very plain and very boring.  This couple put some fun into their guest book!  The guest were able to make a scrap book and it was a true keepsake.  Click on this link to see the blog article of this guest book!!

Why hire a professional photographer?

I came across a great article on why to hire a professional photographer to do your wedding.  An amateur photographer shot a wedding side-by-side with a professional photographer.  Here are the results!!!!   Enlightening!

Bridal portraits of Julie

I love taking bridal portraits!  The only thing I don’t like is that I have to wait to post them to my blog several months after I take them so the groom-to-be doesn’t get a sneak-peak at the dress.  Julie and Brian were married last week at First Baptist Church in Hickory, North Carolina, so I can finally post these photos.  She really likes the photos with the natural background, and I really  like the ones with the warehouse and door background.  Which ones do you like the best?  Hope you enjoy them!

Clich Here to see Julie’s entire bridal shoot.

This one if my very favorite!
